Evening Summer Engagement Session

Yosemite is my absolute favorite place to photograph love stories. Nothing beats a beautiful Yosemite meadow. Evan and Kayla reached out to me for Engagement photos in Yosemite and I was super excited. They would be traveling from out of state to do a trip with family and celebrate their recent engagement. I became further excited hearing more about them as a couple and the love they shared for the outdoors. They shared the many places they have got to adventure with one another over the past years, and that Yosemite would be their first time visiting together. I knew this session would be one for the books. Hence the blog. Kayla had never been, and Evan had not been since he was a young boy. I was excited to get to share this experience with them as they made new memories in such a beautiful place.
We jumped on a phone call to discuss the potential of working with one another. Our biggest need for discussion was location recommendations. The many sceneries that Yosemite provides can be overwhelming to choose from. Upon discussing the many locations, Kayla and Evan landed on Cooks and Sentinel Meadow. I talked about the proximity of the two meadows and the unbeatable views they provided, and they decided immediately to spend their session at these two locations. Yosemite offers so many fantastic options to capture love stories, but when it comes to a lush green meadow and a giant waterfall, I am a little biased in recommending cooks and sentinel meadow. Not to mention the view of the iconic Half Dome from Cooks Meadow.
Evan and Kayla got to watch the roaring Yosemite Falls from Sentinel Meadow as the sun started to set. We then took a stroll to Cooks Meadow to view Half Dome. They really wanted to incorporate swing dancing into the photos since it was something special to them that they had done since they started dating. I got to photograph them swing dance alongside the beautiful lush meadow under Half Dome as the sun finished setting.
